Displaced workers are a unique group of professionals.
We know how they think. We know how they feel. Our
goal at EA is to help dislocated, downsized and otherwise
disenfranchised workers regain their confidence and
sense of value and empower them to become economically
self-sufficient through entrepreneurship. Our Start-up
Business Intensive Program is designed around the
needs of dislocated workers. We create a unique classroom
dynamic where fear and doubt are minimized, confidence
is increased exponentially and the transitional needs of
each dislocated employee are identified and supported
through an eleven week intensive program. Instead
of angry and disgruntled, your company’s dislocated
workers are engaged, challenged and looking forward
to a successful future.
Start–Up Business
Intensive
The Start-Up Business Intensive is a concentrated and tactical development program for dislocated executives who have a strong vision of entrepreneurship and who want to accelerate the launch of a successful new business venture.
The program provides practical, relevant and hands-on training for clients to develop a comprehensive business plan including: concept statement, industry and competitor analysis, competitive strategy, marketing strategy, operating plan, proforma financials including cash flow, income statement and beginning balance sheet, risk analysis and an implementation strategy.
Methodology
The Start-Up Business Intensive is conducted in three, six hour sessions per week for eleven weeks. During the eleven week program, up to sixteen clients will be provided the knowledge, tools and resources to develop and write their own business plan, step by step. These sixteen clients with the instruction and facilitation of a highly skilled entrepreneur will form a "think tank", a focus group, if you will, to shape, challenge and validate business plan assumptions along the way.
Entrepreneurship Advantage, Inc. (EA) Strategic Partners, i.e., experts representing key strategic business functions such as accounting, legal, insurance, marketing, small business lending, and more, will support classroom sessions to provide guidance and resources for key business start-up issues and challenges. Break out groups, informal discussions, and presentations will be utilized to enable students to define and refine strategies and tactics. Clients will submit completed sections of the business plan at specific time during the course for review and refinement. Three hours of one-on-one consulting is provided throughout the eleven weeks to set direction and maintain focus. The result is a well conceived and tested business plan and a detailed implementation and execution plan.
Post Class Counseling
EA is not just interested in EA-1000 participants developing sound, bankable business plans. We are committed to helping EA Graduates launch sustainable businesses. To that end, Each EA-1000 graduates will receive one hour of consulting with EA Strategic Partners and Consultants twice monthly for 3 months to support the start-up implementation plan at no additional fee. After the initial three month period EA-1000 graduates will have access to all EA Strategic Partners and Consultants at a 40% discounted rate for the next 3 months.
General Flow of the Course
The Start-Up Business Intensive is structured around the thought process required to launch a successful business and the specific components/sections of a viable business plan. The class builds, week by week in a logical and progressive manner. It should be understood that the program is structured, but no two classes are alike. EA customizes each program in real time, based on the unique needs and business concepts of the class.
